We believe in protecting the beautiful environment of Cable Bay, and want to ensure that your children and grandchildren can visit and enjoy it too. TO this end, we have developed an environmental plan and welcome you to support this initiative

Most of our customers want to help, so we invite you to join us by enjoying our hospitality and understanding our environmental policy.

Energy

Golden Sand Beachfront Apartments is reducing our demand on energy:

• We offer a linen change every 2 days which ensures you are helping the environment by reducing energy and water use. However, if you need more frequent changes etc, please tell us)
• We buy local produce wherever possible to reduce transport emissions
• Low energy bulbs are installed in at least 60% of our premises

Waste

Golden Sand Beachfront Apartments is reducing our waste:

• Giving you the opportunity to recycle your rubbish – such as glass, cans, paper, plastics etc
• Reducing the amount of landfill by separating rubbish for recycling
• We reuse paper by printing on the reverse of waste pages and recycling printer cartridges

Water

Golden Sand Beachfront Apartments is conserving water by;

• Installing shower heads and toilet cisterns to reduce water volume without compromising on quality
• Collecting rain water for your use
• Using the most water efficient washing machine available and setting the water to cold
• Only using the outside tap when strictly necessary
• Providing a basin for washing feet when coming off the beach etc

Pollution

Golden Sand Beachfront Apartments is reducing pollution by:

• Providing low toxic cleaners and detergents for your use
• Noise and heat insulation the property
• Providing oars rather than a motor or the dinghy use
• Ridding the beachfront of phoenix palm fronds which fall

Conservation

Golden Sand Beachfront Apartments is conserving by:

• Providing recycled furniture and fitting where possible for your enjoyment
• Setting the water temperature to 58 degrees

Community

Golden Sand Beachfront Apartments understands that we are part of our local community and participates in it by:

• Supporting local suppliers and operators
• Donating surplus furniture to needy families
• Employing locals
• Supporting local organisations, artists and artisans
• Providing mentoring ( judging ) for local school business initiative programme
