If you have booked directly with us, and not via a third party site (Homeaway, Booking.com, Airbnb etc) our cancellation policy is that bookings canceled 7 days or more before arrival are free of charge. Cancellation within 7 days of arrival date: 100% forfeit of the total booking price.

Should the alert level change mean you can no longer travel to Cable Bay Stays, we ask that you first change the booking to a later suitable date within the next 6 months. If this is not possible we will refund the deposit paid. We will work with you on this.
We ask that guests:
1. Note their arrival at Golden Sand and Driftwood on the QR code supplied.
2. Do not come to stay if they are unwell.
3. Maintain good hygiene such as washing hands and keeping a safe distance.

If you have booked through a third party site, you will need to refer to the terms that you agreed to when you placed your booking.

Our policy is that you enter at your own risk. We have contactless arrival, payment and check in, your apartment is thoroughly cleaned and sanitised before your arrival and your services are independent.

Our staff are vaccinated and if you are not vaccinated against COVID19, your stay is entirely your responsibility.
The short answer is no you do not need to have had the COVID vaccine to stay at Cable Bay Stays. Your stay is your responsibility.

Payment for bookings made directly with Golden Sand Beachfront Accommodation will be taken on the day of your arrival. If your booking is for non-refundable dates such as event weekends, public holidays and peak dates you will be required to pay a non-refundable 50% deposit, and the balance will be required to be paid 30 days prior to your arrival.
If you have booked a property through a third party site (Booking.com, Expedia, Agoda, Airbnb etc) you will be bound by their payment terms. Please refer back to that provider for the terms of payment.

A 2.5% credit card surcharge applies to all payments charged to any Visa and Mastercard Credit and Debit Cards.

Yes. You can pay directly into our NZ bank account.

One night’s tariff will be taken at booking time. The balance of the payment for bookings made directly with Golden Sand Beachfront Accommodation will be taken on the day of your arrival. We’re sure you can understand that more guests means more bedding, towels, power, toilet paper, soap, cleaning etc. These costs are charged to the owners. So for example – an apartment that is used by 2 guests should take less time to clean, and use less household supplies than a house that is used by 5 guests.

You may check in to the property you have booked any time between 2:00pm and 9:00pm on the date of arrival.
Where an arrival after 9:00pm is required we ask that you make contact with us in advance so that we can ensure you understand how to access the property.

We appreciate that your time away with family and friends is precious and sometimes arriving early or leaving later than our stipulated times would be helpful. We are happy to accommodate these requests where possible. There is an additional charge of $30 for a 12pm check in or 12pm check out. On some occasions we can’t accommodate early or late check outs as we may have guests arriving/departing prior/after your reservation and we will need to use that time to ensure the property is cleaned to a high standard.

Each apartment has a designated parking area, and the two bedroom apartments have room for 2 cars in the carport ( so it could be a boat) You can call us to discuss your requirements if needed on 021 408191.

Yes, we allow pets to stay so long as it is arranged beforehand. Pets must always stay off the furniture and not be left alone for extended times. There is a fee of $20 per pet per night.

Yes each apartment has a gas Weber BBQ and is included in your tariff. We do ask that you clean this after using to avoid a fee if left dirty.

We’ve equipped each room with its own specific information guide. This will tell you anything you should need to know during your stay including wifi password, property facilities, instructions for appliances, health & safety, things to see and do in the area, your nearest stores, plus our recommendations for local activities and day trips etc.

Yes we provide towels, sheets, tea towels etc and these are included in your rate.
